Back Crawl and 100M Freestyle on Sunday as well. Both girls now go on to represent the school in the Irish Minor School Championships in Dublin in February 2017 at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin.

Orla Quinn set impressive times in both the 14&U 100M Back Crawl and 100M Breast Stroke and Shannon Baird reached finals in both the 14&U 100M Breast Stroke and 100M Freestyle. All four girls were part of the 200M Medley relay (10th overall) and 200M Freestyle relay (8th) teams – remarkable results given they were one of the youngest teams in these events. Eoin Mullan won silver in both the 100M Butterfly and 200M Individual Medley events. He has now qualified to represent Ulster in the upcoming Interprovincial Schools competition in Dublin in 2017. Eoin was also included in the recently announced Swim Ulster Academy Squad.

Mrs Maureen McCullough, Head of PE at Loreto College, paid tribute to all these talented young swimmers as well as thanking Mrs Amanda McGarry who officiated for Loreto College on the day, and Mr Paul Byrne who coordinated Loreto’s entries for the event.
