Lorraine was invited to visit her local Specsavers store in Antrim to receive a bottle of champagne, a certificate and a £150 glasses voucher for making it through as a finalist.

Speaking at the presentation Lorraine said: “I’ve needed glasses since I was 13 and just love wearing them. Glasses give me confidence and are a big part of who I am.

“I have three pairs at the moment and am looking forward to spending my voucher on some more! It would be amazing to be part of the final in London but if not I’ve really enjoyed the competition so far.”

Congratulating Lorraine, Specsavers store manager, Ita Armour, said: “Lorraine and her children have been coming to Specsavers in Antrim for over three years.

“Lorraine has done incredibly well to be selected as a regional finalist given the huge volume of entries and everyone in our Antrim store is rooting for her as she moves forward to the next stage.”

The awards were launched by Spice Girls singer and Heart FM DJ Emma Bunton earlier this year.

If she triumphs in her age category, Lorraine could meet Emma at the celeb-packed awards ceremony at London’s 8 Northumberland Avenue on Tuesday 6 October.
