Lottery funding for Whitehead

WHITEHEAD Golf Club has been awarded £4,520 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Energy Efficient Venues programme.

The club, which provides a focal point for members of the community, will use the funding to install fibreglass insulation in the roof-space and to carry out an energy audit to work out improvements needed to reduce annual heating costs.

Local man David Maxwell, who has been a member of the club for 52 years, explained that the money saved will be ploughed back into the running of the club house.
