Lottery windfallfor Dominican and CADC

Groups in the Coleraine area are set to share in a grants windfall from the Big Lottery Fund.

Dominican College is one of two groups in the area awarded a total of £16,655 from Awards for All.

They are one of 88 groups across Northern Ireland who are sharing in a total grants windfall of £766,170.

Dominican College in Portstewart has been awarded £10,000 to buy spin bikes and run classes that will be open to the community as well as pupils.

Coleraine & District Amalgamated Committee which provides a range of activities for the local community also received £6,655. The grant will be used for a community festival and volunteer training programme.

Joanne McDowell, Big Lottery Fund NI Director, said: “The Big Lottery Fund’s NI Awards for All programme funds health, education, environment and community projects that help people bring about positive change in their lives, improve health and well-being, develop skills and create safer communities.

“The application process is simple and accessible and shall remain so, making it easy for applicants to successfully apply for small pots of funding that can have such a big impact on local communities and lives.”
