Dungannon is officially kicking off its festive celebrations in style with a spectacular Christmas Lights Switch On and Santa’s Pageant for the whole family.

The fun filled event will take place from 6.30pm on Friday 20th November in Market Square which is set to be the hub of all the town’s festive events over coming weeks.

Visitors to the town will enjoy quality shopping, live entertainment as well as seasonal fayre and a Santa’s Pageant.

The event promises to be even bigger and even better this year with Santa, Mrs Claus and their special friends visiting the town centre before meeting the children in Ranfurly House after switching on the lights at 7.30pm.

There will be a real carnival atmosphere around the town centre and in Market Square as the Pageant that includes The Mad Hatter Samba Band, Christmas Elves, Aladdin and, of course, Santa and Mrs Claus weaves its way through the streets of the town via Scotch St., Georges St., William St., Irish St. before returning to Market Square. Entertainment from 6.30pm includes music from ‘3’s a crowd’, local dance groups, Balloon modellers, stilt walkers and face painters will provide entertainment aplenty during the proceedings.

Meanwhile, festive fun at Craigavon’s Rushmere, begins with Santa flicking the switch for the Christmas lights on Thursday November 12.

Taking time out of his busy toy-making schedule, Santa will arrive at Rushmere, ready to take up official residency in the centre’s Snow House where he is inviting children of all ages to visit and receive a free festive chocolate lollipop.

A first of its kind this year, there will be up to 20% off in selected stores between 6pm and 9pm as part of the light “Switch-on Extravaganza”, starting the festive season with a bang. There will also be live entertainment throughout the evening in the mall for all shoppers to enjoy.
