Love is in the air at charity night

THIS Saturday (13th Feb) offers a chance to get dressed up, treat your partner to a nice night out for St.Valentine's and raise much needed funds for local charity group Children In Crossfire (www.childrenincrossfire.org].

Dara and Niamh Ni Artghaile organisers of the event in the Marine Hotel, Ballycastle hope that with enough support they will raise the 4,000 needed for the two projects in Ethiopia & Tanzania.

Dara Oh Artghaile as part of the fundraising team travelling to Vietnam in April has over the past couple of weeks been successfully gathering support from local people and businesses in the form of 'taking a table', sponsoring prizes and generally offering goodwill to his endeavour.

Dara explained: "It gives you great hope and a brilliant feeling when you talk to people about Children in Crossfire and the worthy projects that this fundraising dinner will help.

“Last year when I was in Uganda, seeing children on the streets with no future and no one to help them, I felt that I had to try and find a way to help and this is what Children in Crossfire do.

“The money we raise will help to train people to care for children, learning skills that will be put back into their own community. The local people in and around Ballycastle have been very supportive and I cant thank them enough.

“I know we'll have a great night in the Marine and hope that others will join us...tickets are only 25 and available from Marine Hotel & Country Club receptions or by calling 07828214156. Donations can also be made online www.justgiving.com/daraoh."

Mervyn McAlister & Orlaith Black in welcoming the efforts of two young fundraisers Dara & Niamh added: "We are delighted that Dara & Niamh have chosen our Hotel for their Big Night.

“The Marine Hotel can successfully offer function organisers an excellent menu and facilities and our record over the past year has shown this. From within our small community, people have put a lot of effort into helping others, Children in Crossfire, Marie Curie Care, St.Vincent de Paul, The Ballycastle Hospice or the Haiti tragedy, and we will be here for them.”
