Lowry’s Lane ‘transformed’- says Cllr

SDLP Councillor Shauna Cusack has congratulated all those involved in upgrade works at Lowry’s Lane which she says has been “completely transformed.”

The works, which have just been completed, were “greatly anticipated and hard fought for”, she said. The Lane is now open to the public.

“I would like to thank all those involved in securing the success of this project to swift completion. Contractors and managers have been fantastic throughout the process. They listened to and have been sympathetic to the suggestions and needs of local residents. I have witnessed them engaging with the public-patiently answering their queries. As a resident of the area I am looking forward to enjoying this ancient walkway, which is now completely transformed. The Lane had become overgrown and dark with a hazardous, uneven pathway. After extensive resurfacing, replanting, light installation, gating and fencing it should appeal to anyone to use for the health benefits of walking and cycling.

“Also, dog walkers should heed the dog waste bins. I would also appeal to people not to litter, break glass or daub graffiti.”
