Lunn’s performance praised

Alliance Council Group Leader, Alderman Stephen Martin, has congratulated Lagan Valley candidate, Trevor Lunn on his “strong” performance” in the general election, in which he upped the party’s vote in the constituency by nearly 1,400 on the 2010 poll.

“I would like to congratulate Jeffrey Donaldson on his re-election to Parliament and to all the candidates who took part in the democratic process,” he said. “We are delighted that Alliance’s positive message of a real, shared future, coupled with our all- year-round work on behalf of constituents, has been endorsed by increasing numbers of people across Lagan Valley.

“We would like to thank everyone who took the time to cast their vote for Alliance.

“Because of your support, Trevor Lunn, whose leadership, firstly as a Councillor and mayor, then MLA since 2007, has led Alliance to poll the largest increase in share of the vote of all the candidates in Lagan Valley.

“On the back of last year’s local council success, when Alliance gained an extra seat, Trevor has shown yet again that Alliance is going from strength to strength in Lagan Valley.”
