Lurgan bomb follow-up searches end

Police in Lurgan have finished searching the Victoria St area of Lurgan. The searches were a follow-up to the bomb attack at the weekend.

The searches started early this morning and included police combing the former Clendinnings factory waste land at the corner of Lake St and Victoria Street.

Superintendent Davy Moore thanked the community for their continued patience and support.

“I would again urge people to remain vigilant. If you notice anything suspicious please contact us straight away on 101 or 999 in an emergency.”

Earlier he said the searches were being carried out to ‘ensure the safety of the public’.
