Lurgan churches to raise the roof with 'Songs Of Praise'

AN evening of music and praise will see four Lurgan choirs coming together to raise funds for the building projects currently taking place at St Peter's Parish Church and Shankill Parish Church.

The ‘Songs of Praise’ event being held on Friday, October 22, at 8pm in Shankill Parish Church will see the choir of Shankill coming together with choirs from St Peter’s, St Pauls and the Lurgan Musical Society.

Rector of Shankill Parish, Rev Geoff Wilson said: “In a town which is often in the media for the wrong reasons, the Songs of Praise evening is an opportunity for those from all communities in Lurgan to come together for the united purpose of supporting two important building projects.

"It sends out a clear signal that many in the community want to see relationships built as well as significant places of worship being restored.”

Refreshments will be served after the concert. While there is no admission charge, a retiring collection will be divided equally between the church building projects.
