Described by the PSNI as ‘despicable’, the music and art rooms at St Ronan’s College campus on the Cornakinnegar Road were ransancked sometime during Tuesday evening.

“A number of laptop and MacBook computers were stolen- some of these stored valuable coursework, which at this stage in the year will be extremely hard for the young students to replace,” said a PSNI spokesperson.

“This is the despicable scene that greeted school children arriving to St. Ronan’s College yesterday morning.

“Were you in the vicinity of Cornakinnegar Road on Tuesday 26th January? Did you see anything that looked suspicious? Have you been offered a laptop or MacBook for sale in the last day or so?

“This crime truly shows the lack of concern or thought for others from these criminals.

“The real victims here, besides the college, are young local students, trying their best to better themselves and create their own future.
