M1 closed countrybound
The M1 is currently closed countrybound between Black’s Road and Sprucefield due to an ongoing security alert.
Inspector Julian Buchanan said: “Police understand that it’s very difficult and frustrating when you’re trying to get about your daily business or commute from work and we apologise to members of the public for the inconvenience but would assure them that this is necessary to ensure the safety of the local community and to protect everyone. Public safety is of paramount importance.
“Motorists should follow diversions which have been put in place.
“Police would like to thank the public for their continued patience and understanding.”
