Macosquin WI monthly meeting

Arrangements for the Insitute’s 70th Anniversary Dinner, to be held next month, were agreed and the speakers for the evening, Mrs Susan McCloskey and Mrs Virginia Maxwell were introduced.

Both ladies run their businesses in the Causeway area producing cheese and chutney products.

Their companies started from humble beginnings and are now well established with online sales to hamper companies and local outlets.

Mrs Daphne King proposed a vote of thanks before a delicious supper was served.

The monthly competition for the "Most Unusual Mug" was won by Mrs Shirley Hall with Mrs Lorna Barbour and Miss Eileen Richmond second and third respectively.

The evening closed with a rendition of The Countrywoman's Song.
