Maghaberry WI hold AGM

PRESIDENT of Maghaberry WI, Julie Uprichard, welcomed everyone back after summer break and opened their annual general meeting welcoming Helen Dunlop, Lisnagarvey Rep for the area and Head of Handicraft, also tellers Dorothy Andrews and Barbara McClenahan.

Julie thanked the Committee and everyone for their help during her term of President. Minutes of last year’s AGM, Secretary’s Report and Financial Report were read.

The Committee were elected for the incoming year and Irene Culbert was elected President.

Friendship Cup was won by Elaine Lappin. Competition Cup was won by Lynsay Johnston. Helen Dunlop Shield (Craft Cup) was won by Elaine Lappin. Carol Barnes Award went to Norma Lusty. Lisburn Shield was awarded to Nettie Cowan. Competition for Unusual Bookmark was won by Nettie Cowan.

The next meeting will be held on October 11 and the subject Travel Solutions and members are reminded to bring a poem about their travels.
