Maghera traders’ congratulated on discount day

He said: “The local traders’ make a major contribution to community life and always aim to project a very positive message for Maghera. Throughout the day there was a variety of great discounts to be availed off.

“I want to commend our local traders’ association for organising the Trade Discount Day which was marketed as ‘RED SATURDAY’ as well as the much enjoyed Christmas Carnival.”

Cllr McFalone added: “When speaking with a number of shop owners over recent days, they informed me that the ‘Red Saturday’ initiative was a massive success with many shoppers staying local and enjoying the various discounts and entertainment.

“As Maghera has a great mix of retailers, all of whom offer an extensive range of products and services, I am urging everyone in our community to ‘shop local’ in the run up to Christmas, supporting our independent traders who make a major contribution to our local economy, employment opportunities and community life.”
