Magherafelt assault victim attacked in town car park

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Rainey Street car park in the Magherafelt.

Constable Neil DeVecchis said : “The incident took place at approximately 12:50am on Sunday 28th August. A 22-year-old male was assaulted and attended hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.”

The alleged male assailant is described as medium build and approximately six feet tall with short black hair.

He was wearing a grey coloured top or jumper with possibly a black coloured shirt underneath.

Police are appealing for anyone with information who may have witnessed the assault to contact Police at Magherafelt Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 130 on 28/08/16.
