The £1.5M project from Gorse Hill Ltd to create two new industrial units at Station Road Industrial Estate in Magherafelt, was given the green light at the council’s planning committee on Tuesday night.

According to a council statement, “the investment has the potential to double the company’s workforce and the initial scheme was re-designed to take account of noise and nuisance to neighbours”.

Speaking at the meeting, councillor Sean McPeake applauded the application and said it would provide a welcome boost to the local economy by creating employment.
