A Mid Ulster Council spokesperson added: "As a result, a deep clean of the Bridewell will be undertaken and the building will re-open again to the public on Wednesday (23 September).

"As we share an access with the library to our visitor information centre, it will also be temporarily closed to ‘walk-in’ customers. However, our visitor information staff based in the building will continue to provide a telephone and online service during the period."
