Magherafelt swimming pool first in UK to win quality award

Operated by Pulse on behalf of Mid Ulster District Council, the leisure centre has been presented with the highly-regarded Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG) Poolmark award.

The centre is the first swimming pool in the UK to receive the award, which recognises water safety and cleanliness.

The centre has been awarded a plaque and certificate to mark their achievement.

Poolmark is the UK national standard for quality, healthy pools and demonstrates that the pool is safe and comfortable for swimmers. To meet the required conditions, Greenvale Leisure Centre had to show that they use recommended practices for pool water treatment, and that they employ appropriately trained and qualified staff.

“We’re delighted to be achieve this recognition, which clearly demonstrates our continued commitment to pool quality standards,” says Operation Director, Robert Buckley.

“Providing a healthy experience for swimmers and assuring the public that the facilities at Greenvale Leisure Centre are of the highest quality is extremely important to us.”
