Magherafelt to host its first-ever drive-in cinema

Meadowbank Sports Arena car park will be the venue for what is believed to be Magherafelt’s first drive-in movie screening.

The event which is being organised by Rainey School Rugby Fund Raising Committee is taking place on Saturday 21st November.

Sizzlers outside catering are providing a range of hot food and snacks on the evening for what promises to be a very popular night out.

The movie on the big screen on the night will be the Johnny Depp classic Pirates of the Caribbean.

Joint Chairman of the Fundraising Committee Alistair McGowan commented: “We hope this will be a really good family night out. I don’t remember a drive in movie in Magherafelt so this is a bit of a novelty for everyone.”

Head of Rugby at the Rainey Endowed School Chris Campbell said: “The Fund Raising Committee are doing fantastic work in helping to support the development of rugby at the school.

“I would encourage all current and former pupils, friends and family to support the movie.

“Having Sizzlers Outside Catering support us with hot food and snacks on the evening is a great boost which will hopefully add to the occasion.”

Tickets for the movie are priced at £20 per car regardless of passenger numbers, they can obtained from the school office.

The maximum capacity on the night is for 100 cars so make sure to buy your tickets as soon as possile.

The car park opens at 6pm, while the movie starts at 7.30pm.
