The race was won by Breege Connolly (North Belfast Harriers) in a time of 36:17 with second place achieved by Newtownards woman Julie Balmer (North Down AC) in 39:11, and in third place was Jessica Craig (North Down AC) in 39:50.

Many local charities were among the winners as instead of a nominated charity this year, organisers Pure Running were happy to let participants support a cause of their own choosing. Among those represented were MacMillan Cancer Care, Age NI and The Alzheimer’s Society.

Delighted with the atmosphere and the weather RunHer race director Michael Jenkins congratulated all those who took part and their bands of supporters:

“We trumped last year’s numbers by about 300 and spectators at the start line said that the competitors just kept coming!

“Now we’re looking forward to our next RunHer event at Stormont on October 6 and online entry is open at a cost of £15 until the 30th June by logging on to www.runher.co.uk”
