Magnet was being used on meter

When police called to carry out a search at premises in Craigavon they discovered that a magnet was being used to stop the meter recording electricity.

John Paul Ward (34), Castleview, Gilford, was fined £250 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for preventing the meter from recording at Moyraverty Court.

He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that on July 29 last year police searched, under warrant, the defendant’s home address at the time for drugs.
