This year’s impressive programme was stuffed with children’s events, live entertainment in local bars, talent shows, golf competitions and even a Man versus Food challenge.

Deputy mayor Mark Fielding said: The popularity of this event was again seen this year. I have been going to the fireworks display for many years which large crowds attend; but this year the numbers of people was unprecendated with cars parked far out of the town .

“ The Fireworks display is a flagship event for Portstewart and organisers of the Red Sails Festival, Chairman Sean Graham and the team of volunteers from Portstewart Community Association are to be congratulated for the commitment, time and effort they put in to a week long of events in the popular Red Sails Festival.”

Thanks to all those who supported the Festival.
