Maintenance to close rail line on Sunday

LOCAL rail passengers are being warned there will be a revised Portadown/Bangor line timetable and a bus substitution service in operation between Lisburn and Great Victoria Street Station this Sunday, September 18.

NI Railways said the line closure is required to facilitate essential engineering work as they prepare for the arrival and introduction of 20 new trains.

For passengers using the Enterprise service, a bus substitution will operate to and from Newry and Belfast Central During the engineering works, Enterprise train services will operate to and from Lisburn, serving Lurgan and Portadown.

As a result there will be limited train capacity available for anyone travelling to the GAA final on Sunday September 18.

Passengers are reminded there will also be an hourly Ulsterbus Goldline 200 service in operation from Europa Buscentre to Dublin.

Passengers can get further bus and rail timetable information at www.translink.co.uk or by calling the contact centre on 028 90 66 66 30.
