Major achievement by local photographer

Peter Irvine, a member of Fairhead Photographic Club, has shot to prominence on the Province-wide photographic scene by winning the Gold Medal in the Colour Print section of te 2012 Northern Ireland Photographic Association Annual Exhibition.

His print Seen Better Days, featuring a discarded child’s bicycle in the interior of a disused cottage, was selected as top print by International Judge Rod Wheeleans FRPS, MPAGB,MFIAP of the Photographic Allianced of Great Britain.

Peter was warmly welcomed back at his home Club, along with his trophies, by Club Chairman Sheila Fairon.

“We are all delighted at Peter’s well-deserved success and congratulate him warmly,” she said. Underlining that the Club activities are designed to foster interest and proficiency in photography at all levels, she added: “Our Club aims seeks to cater for absolute beginners as well as more experienced photographers. But success like Peter’s is an encouragement to us all.”
