Major BT cable damaged in Larne
A major BT cable at Larne Telephone Exchange has been damaged, causing an interruption to services for some customers in the Larne area, according to a company spokesperson.
The incident, which occurred in the early afternoon on Thursday July 23, affected telephone and internet services.
Speaking on Thursday evening, a BT spokesperson told the Times: “BT engineers are currently on site restoring service to customers affected as a result of damage caused to a major BT cable located at the Larne Telephone Exchange building.
“The cause of the damage is currently under investigation and work will continue throughout the night as customers are brought back into service.”
