Major parade to be held in Newbuildings

One of the largest band parades in the North West will take place on Saturday 23rd June in Newbuildings, The Pride of the Orange and Blue Flute Band will host their 33rd Annual Band parade starting at 8.30pm from the Woodside Road.

This year’s parade will see some of the finest marching bands in Ulster taking part with over 40 bands from at least 6 counties attending, and who will be competing for trophies in a number of categories. The parade is the result of hard work and dedication of the growing membership of the band, and who themselves will attend over 50 parades this year throughout the province highlighting the continuing strength of the ulster marching band community.

The band continues to develop a strong community element around the village, with the band awarding a prize on the night of the parade to the best decorated house, this comes after a very successful jubilee competition won by Mr and Mrs Alan Walker.
