Major Sale in Loughgall

The first sale of the new auction season in Loughgall takes place on Thursday 26th September, and according to auctioneer Gerry McAfee ‘it is probably our best sale yet in Loughgall’, principally because of the number of fine pieces of furniture and smaller furnishings, together with a private collection of Waterford crystal, doultons, and many fine collectibles including Worcester, Belleek, ruby, imari and other pieces.

Among the many special pieces of furniture is a very fine satinwood ladies writing desk, a very nice walnut dining room table, chair set and matching sideboard, two bureau bookcases, a choice of nice display cabinets, small chests, revolving bookcase, arm and occasional chairs, davenport desk, lots of occasional small tables, including a very fine pair of gilted tables, bedside cabinets etc.

Collectibles include a private collection of Waterford glass including two large bowls, water jugs, vases, decanters etc, a large collection of Doulton figurines and ladies, hummels, Royal Worcester, Royal Dux, Belleek including a large Belleek jardinière, ruby, Staffordshires, Hamersley, bronzes, dolls, carlton ware, imari, masons, etc etc.

There are also nice wall clocks, mantle clock, pictures, tapestries, mirrors.

Among the silver lots is a very large two lidded presentation cup, a tea service and many other smaller pieces and the jewellery section includes a very fine 18ct gold emerald and diamond cluster ring, other 9ct, 14ct and 18ct inset rings, bracelets, bangles and pocket watches etc.

Viewing commences on Tuesday 24th from and Wednesday 25th 3.00 – 5.00pm and 7.00 – 8.30pm and day of sale Thursday 26th September from 3.30pm at the Old Court House, Loughgall, with the sale commencing at 7.00pm by screen and catalogue in the Famous Grouse, Loughgall.
