The company was presented with the much coveted Haulier of the Year award, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, at a glittering ceremony at the Ramada Hotel in Belfast.

It’s the second time the company has won the award.

Two years away from completing a successful half century in business, the Moira based firm has seen off downturns and recessions along the way to become one of Northern Ireland’s most progressive operators, with its distinctive liveried trucks a common sight on roads across Ireland and the UK.

It has invested significantly in both its fleet and warehousing facilities and more recently diversified its operation by successfully entering into the specialist market of transporting hazardous freight.

The company has come a long way since it was originally established back in 1967 by Linden Allen.

Today, it operates from a four acre site that includes more than 50,000 sq ft of warehousing space, with a purpose built covered drive through transit hub that eliminates the time consuming practice of handling freight in the open yard, a fully equipped service/MOT centre and a modern office block.

The annual Transport & Logistics awards, organised by the Hillsborough based publishers of Export & Freight magazine, 4SM (NI) Ltd., is now widely regarded as the premier event in the Irish Transport calendar, attracting entries, support and sponsorship from all the leading players in the industry.
