Make your new year’s resolution to volunteer

With the New Year now upon us Causeway Volunteer Centre is appealing to members of the public to consider volunteering.

CVC has so many different volunteering opportunities, to people of all ages to make a difference in their local community, for example telephone Befriending, Mealtime Companions, Dementia Support workers, Childcare Assistants, Drivers, Animal care, Fundraisers and so much more.

Every volunteer who registers is supported by Centre staff when it comes to finding a placement, throughout that placement and even afterwards.

People volunteer for different reasons.

It’s a great way to meet local people in your area, to engage with your local communities, get involved in local community projects,.

It can also increase your chances of getting paid employment, to sample different career options and most importantly to gain enjoyment and fulfilment from knowing that you are doing something worthwhile.

You can give as much or as little time as you like, some people volunteer for an hour each week, others for 20 hours.

The bottom line is that every hour of your time is valued and appreciated.
