Man (19) brandished glass bottle

David Braniff, Rosmoyle, Craigavon, was sentenced to three months in prison, suspended for 18 months, for possession of an offensive weapon on December 8 last year.

He was also given a concurrent two month term, suspended for 18 months, for disorderly behaviour on the same date.

The court heard that at 12.25am in Edward Street, Lurgan, the defendant was screaming and shouting. He was brandishing a glass bottle which he refused to drop and the police had to disarm him.

The case had been adjourned from a previous court so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.

Defence solictor said Braniff accepted his behaviour was well short of the behaviour expected of him by his
mother.

He added the defendant had taken too much alcohol and would apologise for his behaviour.
