Man accused of assisting alleged killer in Coalisland refused bail

A man accused of assisting an alleged killer and withholding information about a Coalisland murder has been refused a bail variation.

Dmitrijus Indrisiunas, 42, from The Shanoch, stands charged with assisting offenders and withholding information linked to the murder or GBH of Gediminas Stauskas on October 14.

A detective sergeant from the PSNI told the court that police objected to the bail variation to allow the defendant to return to his own home in Coalisland.

He stated that their fear was for interference with witnesses as the home address is in close proximity to a number of witnesses.

Mr Craig Patton, defending, told the court that his client said that the threat of interference was “minimal” as he has been visiting the family home each day since December from his bail address when he is not under curfew

District Judge John Meehan refused to vary bail and adjourned the case until April 6.
