Standing in the dock of Craigavon Magistrates Court, 23-year-old Stephen Ian Williamson confirmed he was aware of the three charges against him.

Williamson, from Old Bleach Green, is accused of causing criminal damage by breaking a window at Craigavon Area Hospital, using disorderly behaviour in the hospital and resisting a constable, all alleged to have occurred on August 26 this year.

A police officer said he knew the facts and circumstances surrounding the allegations and that he believed he could connect Williamson to the offences.

Applying for legal aid defence solicitor Connor Downey said Williamson was in receipt of benefits and asked for the case to be adjourned for two weeks.

Releasing Williamson on bail, District Judge Bernie Kelly ordered the Banbridge man to come back to court on October 7 “for attitude.”

She warned however that if convicted, “his liberty is in serious jeopardy - you don’t behave like that in a hospital.”
