Man accused of stealing over £5,000 in cosmetics and clothes from Mid-Ulster shops

A man has appeared in court accused of stealing cosmetics and clothes valued at more than £5,000 over a five-year period from stores in the Mid-Ulster area.

Anthony Ferguson (30), Flax Street, Belfast, is alleged to have stolen ladies cosmetics from Boots shops in Magherafelt and Dungannon, and clothing from Heatons and Sports Direct, Armagh.

He also faces a charge of obstructing a police officer.

The alleged offences were committed between March 2009 and August this year.

District Judge Alan White adjourned the case at Magherafelt Magistrates Court for a pre-sentence report.

Ferguson was released on bail, with conditions, to appear again in court on November 12.
