Man accussed of poisoning

Appearing in the dock of Craigavon Magistrates Court alongside an interpreter, 26-year-old Mieczyslaw Krepacki confirmed he understood the fourteen charges against him.

It is understood the incidents happened in the Lisburn area.

Krepacki, with an address at Chapel Hill Mews in Lisburn, faces a catalogue of offences allegedly committed against two other Eastern European men on three dates between 18 and 23 of November this year.

In relation to one victim, Kerpacki faces two counts each of kidnapping, false imprisonment and common assault as well as single charges of threatening to kill the man and administering a poison to him intending to “endanger his life or inflict grievous harm”.

In relation to his second alleged victim, Kerpacki faces single counts of assault, false imprisonment, making a threat to kill and administering a poison.

Giving evidence to the court a police constable said he believed he could connect Kerpacki to each of the charges which District Judge Mervyn Bates described as “very serious.”

Speakingt in court last Wednesday, Defence solicitor Joseph Magee said he was not applying for bail on the day.

Judge Bates remanded the defendant into custody to appear before the court again on December 7 via videolink.
