Man admitted having cannabis

A CHEF from Portrush has been warned that he could end up in prison if he continues to offend.

Owen Elliott (28) of Causeway Street appeared at North Antrim Magistrates’ Court last Friday charged with possession of a class ‘B’ drug.

Court heard that police came across Elliott at the Kellys complex in Portrush on June 3.

He made a statement to police about having cannabis.

Speaking on his own behalf in court, Elliott said: “ It was a silly mistake I made, that is it now.”

District Judge, Richard Wilson, warned Elliott that if he continued he would end up in prison. Mr Wilson fined Elliott 250 and a disposal order was made for the drugs.
