Man arrested after police pursuit in Larne
Police in Larne have arrested a man following a single-vehicle road traffic collision in the Deerpark Road area.
The incident took place shortly after 1.30am on Wednesday.
Sgt Lowry said: “Police were in the area following a report of a white van acting suspiciously. The vehicle was pursued by police after it failed to stop for officers.
“A 43 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily injury, driving whilst unfit, driving whilst disqualified, no insurance and failing to stop for police. He has since been bailed until October pending further enquiries.”
The two men in the vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries, which are not life-threatening.
As is normal procedure, the Office of the Police Ombudsman has been informed.
