Man arrested for drink driving as Lurgan schools were getting out

Police said they attended a road traffic accident on the Banbridge Road in Lurgan.

“One of the drivers was arrested for driving with excess alcohol and was nearly three times over the legal limit,” said the PSNI.

“This occurred on a very busy road just as local schools were getting out.

“Thankfully no one was seriously injured, however the consequences could have been a lot worse,” said the police spokesperson.

“If you choose to drink alcohol and drive this Christmas you will be caught.”
