Man arrested in connection with loyalist paramilitary activity

Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch investigating loyalist paramilitary activity in the Carrick area arrested a 38-year-old man on Wednesday and conducted a number of searches.

Detective Inspector Heather Whoriskey said: “Officers carried out searches in the Castlemara area and another part of the town. A number of items have been removed for further examination. The 38-year-old suspect has been taken to a police station in Belfast for questioning.”

The Times understands that the man remains in custody.
