Man arrested over murder in Derriaghy

A 55-year-old man was arrested in south Belfast on Tuesday in connection with a murder in the city 36 years ago.

William Palmer, also 55, died in hospital in June 1976, three days after he was shot in his home in Derriaghy.

Police said the man had been arrested on suspicion of murder and was being questioned at Antrim police station.

He has now been released on police bail pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
