Man assaulted and racially abused in takeaway

Inspector Paul McCracken explained: “A man who was working at the takeaway was assaulted and verbally abused.

“Racist comments were said to have been made during the incident.

“He was also assaulted and suffered a facial injury as a result.

“The suspected assailant left the restaurant following the incident and is yet to be identified by police.

“Anyone who was in the area at the time or who has any information on the incident is asked to call officers at the Case Progression Team on the non-emergency number.”
