Man assaulted during theft
Police are investigating an incident in Broughshane on the evening of Easter Sunday which resulted in a young man having his wallet stolen and sustaining injuries to his face.
The incident happened on the River Path close Raceview Road, Broughshane at around 9:15pm. The injured person was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries are not life threatening. Police later arrested two men on suspicion of theft and assault. Both were later street bailed pending further enquiries.
Local police, as part of those further enquiries, are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the incident contact them on the new non-emergency 101 number.
