Man assaulted in Killowen

Police in Coleraine are appealing for information after a report of an assault at the Killowen Street area in the early hours of Sunday morning.

At around 1:45am, it was reported that a 43-year-old man had been assaulted in the area by a male.

It is believed the man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to facial injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the assault or anyone with any information to contact them at Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number, 101.
