Man badly hurt in street assault

A MAN was taken to hospital with severe facial injuries after he was attacked with a glass near Glengormley in the early hours of Monday morning (April 26).

The 21-year-old lost several teeth as well as suffering a gash to his face and an injury to his nose in the attack on Antrim Road, which occurred shortly before 5.30am.

Police said the attack happened not far from the Bellevue Arms public house.

A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and is said to be helping police with their enquiries.

Investigating officers have appealed for witnesses to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
