Man caught with cocaine in town

A 31-year-old man who was caught with cocaine in his possession will be sentenced next month.

Sean Robert Berry, Ballyoran Park, Portadown, admitted unlawful possession of a class A drug, cocaine, on December 27.

Police were notified of someone taking drugs in Carleton Street and a search of the defendant uncovered a bag of white powder. It was 0.43 grams of cocaine.

Berry said he had no recollection of the night in question. He had a previous conviction for possession of a class C drug.

The case was adjourned until October 16.
