Man charged with Oscar Knox fraud

A man is due to appear in Lisburn Magistrates Court later this month charged with fraud.

The man has been charged with an alleged fraud linked to the charity fundraising efforts of the Oscar Knox Appeal.

The charge is linked to a fundraising event in Lisburn in October last year.

The man, its claimed, held an event, raising almost £1,000.

It’s alleged the money was never handed over to the appeal. He is set to appear in court later this month.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Oscar Knox raised hundreds of thousands of pounds during his fight against the rare and aggressive form of cancer, neuroblastoma.

Sadly the five year old Glengormley boy lost his battle with the disease in May of this year.
