Man dragged into car park and assaulted in middle of afternoon

A MAN was pulled into a car park and punched about the face in the centre of Londonderry in the middle of the afternoon on Monday, April 16.

At around 4.30pm, a 22 year old male was walking from Waterloo Place in the direction of Strand Road.

As he passed the pedestrian entrance of Victoria Carpark, he was grabbed from behind and pulled into the carpark where he was repeatedly punched in the face.

The assailant walked off in the direction of Waterloo Place. He is described as being in his mid twenties, 5’ 10” tall with short black hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a blue hoody zipped up.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area on Monday afternoon and who may have information is asked to contact police at Strand Road on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers in on 0800 555 111.
