Man due in court charged with rape at Peatlands Park, Dungannon

A man is due to appear in court on Monday charged with the rape of a woman in Peatlands Park, Dungannon on Wednesday.

On Saturday, a PSNI spokesman said: “Detectives from PSNI’s Rape Crime Unit have charged a 23-year-old male with rape.

“He is expected to appear before Omagh Magistrates Court on Monday 02 May.

”As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”

The attack has sent shockwaves across the wider Dungannon region as the park is used by hundreds of people of all ages on a daily basis.
