Man fined for dog attack on hens

A local dog owner has received a fixed penalty after his pet attacked and injured two hens.

The incident happened on December 17, 2013 on the Castlewellan Road, Banbridge.

Two hens were attacked and injured by the man’s dog.

Under the Dogs (NI) Order, the local man was fined under Article 28 (2) (b) attacked and injured another animal and Article 22 (1) dog straying.

The offence was admitted and fixed penalties were accepted. Control conditions were placed on the dog licences and reimbursement was made to the hen owner.
