Man fined for speeding offence

Leonard Doyle, Woodside Park, Loughbrickland, was also given three points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy. The court heard he was detected travelling at 91mph in the 60mph zone on the A1

dual carriageway.

A solicitor representing the defendant said it was a very high speed.

He added that his client was very apologetic and had been driving since he was 18 with not even a point on his licence.

Deputy District Judge Peter Magill said in view of the defendant’s clear record he deserved a bit of a break.
